I tend to have very vivid dreams, sometimes with epic plots, and I remember them! People often find them interesting to hear, and have a hard time interpeting them, which is ok, because I belive dreams are just the brains way of getting rid of excess stuff. So the plan is to keep a dream blog here and you can comment on them or not. I will aslo throw in some older dreams I've had, just for fun...
I have a couple that often reoccur. I have one were I am chewing gum, and no matter how much I try to spit out, I can never get it all out of my mouth. I also dream that no matter how fast I try to get ready to leave, I miss my bus, or ride, by a lot. In the 80's I used to have post apocolyptic dreams quit often. They stopped in the 90's, but after 9/11 they started again...not as often, but I still have had a few. I even had a dream that I was in a future earth, standing on a bridge as a giant explosion occured in a distance, and I said, "This is how it happend last time too."
I have some places that the dreams are set in. I always know when I wake up what universe I was in. There is the college campus, very green, with a small village with lots of bars. You usally have to get there by train. Then there is a city by the sea. Some of it is very modern, but there is an older part too. There is a section with some great shops and another with great resturaunts. I also have a mountain getaway, up a hill, with some cabins and little lakes.
I sometimes have the ability for a form of lucid dreaming. I can change the direction of a dream only if I am acting out of charcter, then somehow I tell myself, I would never do that , this is a dream and change the outcome.
I have had layered dreams as well, once I was doing something, watching tv, and had something else happen in another room, unrelated to what I was doing. I saw all three very vividly. Recently I have a commercial interuption, starring Bill Paxton, for Oreos. I don't recall the dream, only the commercial that happened in the middle.
To answer the question, can you see your self die in a dream...yes...I have, 3 times.
The first time I was shot through the chest accidently, by Larry Mullen of U2. He held me in his arms saying I so sorry and I past. Then I came back as ghost with a huge hole in my chest.
The second one, I fell off a cliff and was picked up by the ferryman to take me down the river Styx to the afterlife. (I didn't pay him though)
The third I was terminally ill. I had a boyfriend, I sat down at a picnic table next to him where we were scrap booking. I punchout a heart and said, "It's time." And died. my head hit the table. Again I came back as a ghost, but only my boyfriend, now overcome with grief, could see me. While everyone was planning my funneral, they kept saying "She would have wanted this." or "That's what she would have wanted." I kept saying, "No I wouldn't, tell them..." But he was too depressed to speak for me.
